PARISH SECRETARIES BRING CHEERS TO YOUNG OFFENDERS

Led by ACE IPI Spiritual Director, Rev. Fr. Lambert Legaspino, about 50 secretaries and staff from the different parishes under the Diocese of Paranaque visited the children-in-conflict-with-the-law confined at the CRADLE in Taguig City last Janaury 12, 2009. This served as a much-awaited New Year’s celebration.  ACE volunteers accompanied the group and helped facilitate the entire program.

   

After the celebration of the Eucharist, the activity was followed with games, song and dance numbers from both the cicl and the visitors. The cicl were treated to a hamburger breakfast and a  really sumptuous lunch of spaghetti, fried chicken, apples, oranges and juice in tetra packs.  Some of the Cradle staff were also provided with the same meals.

During the interaction, the group was able to get the feel of how it is to be imprisoned and not being visited by their loved ones.  The secretaries also handed a humble gift package (containing toiletries, clothes) to each of the cicl.  There was also a mascot from McDonald’s that made this visit a truly fun-filled one not only for the cicl but also for this group of church workers who admit that this is one gathering that they would always remember and cherish.
