APRIL 2009 ACTIVITY REPORT
April 3 - Ferlyn was granted unlimited access to Tahanan ng Kabataan which would allow ACE CDO to implement a lot of programs for the children and elders at the facility without having to request for an approval every time. Due to long holidays, it was then decided that Ferlyn will start with her regular visit right after the holy week.
April 13 - It was Ferlynfs 1st day of visit in Tahanan ng Kabataan. Ferlyn and Ms. Violy; the centerhead of TNK discussed the purpose of having ACE IPI CDO as their partner in helping the CICLs and what roles are to be handled by ACE IPI CDO.

April 14 - Ferlyn prepared intake forms to be used for the profiling. Interviews will start ASAP.

April 16 - LGU-paid Daycare Workers are conducting daily (Mon to Fri) tutorial lessons with the children this is a program made possible by a memorandum issued by the LGU. However, the program will last only until April 28, 2009. With this, Miss Violy decided that Ferlyn will assist the daycare workers which will serve as the initial launch for ACE CDOfs Literacy Program. While assisting in the tutorial lessons, Ferlyn can identify the childrenfs level of learning and comprehension.
Ferlyn also gathered initial information from the children with their needs like shorts, slippers, soaps, tooth brush, tooth paste and etc.
April 18 - New volunteers signed up with ACE CDO. Mrs. Malou Malagayo, a consistent donor of TNK, her son Marky, a graduating BS Secondary Education Major in English and Bianca Labor. All 3 will assist Ferlyn in the Literacy Program which will initially be conducted every Saturday staring April 25 while the LGUfs tutorial lessons are still ongoing.
At 10 am, ACE CDO Director Mrs. Vicky Neri together with ACE CDO Treasurer Ms. Weng Corpus, Ms. Leah Delute and a visitor from Manila, Ms. Lee of CARITAS Manila visited TNK and met the children and elders. Ms. Lee suggested a partnership Youth for Christ in an activity for TNK which is pending until formal discussions are made with the YFC President. The group also met the new volunteers, Miss Malou and Marky Malagayo.
April 25 - Ferlyn, Marky and Bianca met with the children to formally introduce themselves and inform the children about the purpose of their proposed Literacy Program. They gave the children a drawing activity that will allow the children to express themselves that will help know their weak points and the reasons behind their confinement at TNK.
April 27 - Ferlyn prepared proposals/requisition for the Literacy and Proper Hygiene Promotion Programs targeted to start on May 6 and May 16, respectively. These will be submitted to Mrs. Vicky Neri and Miss Weng Corpus for approval.
