PGMA VISIT TO CRADLE

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo came on the morning of 07 May, 2007. This was her first ever visit to the facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City. Accompanied by the top officials of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology headed by its Chief, Sr. Supt. Llamanzares, the NCR Director Barretto and the Warden Talento, the President toured the entire facility particularly the sleeping quarters or dormitory. She later met with five young offenders together with the heads of the NGO.s at the Center’s Library. She asked them of their condition and conferred with the Warden Talento on the planned implementation of the Alternative Learning System Education for all the cicl.

ACE-NCR President, Virgie Bruce shook hands with Pres. Arroyo who later granted the usual taking of photos with staff and NGO before boarding the presidential limousine.

Lunch was served for all those who stayed. In between the bites, ACE officers were able to get acquainted with other NGO volunteers and BJMP Regional officers.
