ANNUAL ACTIVITY PLAN 2010

(Based on the Program Chart)

 

I. SECTORAL PROGRAMS:

 

General Objective:  TO HELP PROMOTE THE TOTAL HUMAN DEVELOPMENT AND WELFARE OF MARGINALIZED CHILDREN AND ELDERS WHO ARE UNDER REHABILITATION AND/OR RESIDENTIAL CARE.

 

A.  CRADLE: (Average of 50 cicl at any given time)

To be continued:

ü      Values Formation session every Wednesday

ü      Painting Class, 3 Fridays a month

ü      Eucharistic Celebrations every 2nd Friday

ü      Prison Awareness Week,  Christmas and Easter celebrations

ü      Monthly supply of basic toiletries and cleaning aids

ü      Support for Summer Sportsfest prizes

ü      Counseling, case-to-case

ü      Once-a year provision of shorts for all cicl

ü      Values Formation Graduation

ü      Meetings with Authorities and other volunteers as called by the Warden

ü      Occasional home visits of parents of cicl, as needed

ü      Skills Training(usually sponsored, e.g. basic electricity)             

 

To be started:

Dance Class (for uniform dance choreography and later for creative art performance) at least once a week but twice for the first 2 months of conduct.

 

To be deferred:

Visit to the National Training School for Boys in Tanay

 

 

 

B. ELDERS:

To be continued: 

Visit/outreach mission to a Residential Center for the indigent Elderly.

           

II. YOUTH FOR YOUTH PROGRAM:

 

General Objective:  TO SUPPORT AND IMPLEMENT PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING OPPORTUNITIES THAT HELP PROMOTE YOUTH EMPOWERMENT

 

  1. VALUES FORMATION:

 

Specific Objective:  To conduct and/or support projects and   activities that help in the spiritual and moral development of the youth including the enrichment of their interpersonal relationships among and between members of their families.

 

To be continued:

ü      Family Enrichment Sessions:

o       Once a month for the youth

o       Once a month for the parents

o       Quarterly joint sessions for youth and parents

o       Annual Recollection/Values Formation Graduation and Christmas Fellowship

ü      Counseling, case to case

ü      Weekly Catechism by the Rogationists Brothers

ü      Monitoring/encouraging present youth members to attend Rosary praying in the community and devotional/para liturgical activities/rites in the parish.

 

 

  1. EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE:

 

Specific Objective: To help support qualified youth in selected areas in Paranaque and Kalookan cities in the access and pursuance of their academic education, including vocational training.

 

To be continued:

ü      A one-time support of school supplies and PE uniforms

ü      Restricted sponsorship of P5,000 for tuition fees (per semester) to qualified/selected members enrolled in a public college school/university.**

** Note:  No increase in number of beneficiaries.

ü      Daily traveling fare-support (one school year) for qualified high school members.

ü      Area Coordinators’ visits to families and school of members.

ü      Counseling, as seen necessary, for problem cases.

ü      Provision of Datamex Vocational Course/Training Certificates

ü      Allowing internet access to some youth members for their research assignments/homework.

                 

To be started:

Review of Set of Criteria and Guidelines on Educational Assistance for possible revision.

 

 

  1. COMPETENCY DEVELOPMENT:

 

Specific Objective: To conduct and/or support project and activities that help build the intellectual and mental capabilities of the youth and develop their skills and leadership potentials.

 

To be continued:

ü      Academic Tutorial classes specifically on Mathematics subject

ü      Summer Computer Workshop/Education**

ü      Araw ng Pasasalamat”/Recognition day

ü      Leadership Seminar for selected Y4Y Core Group

ü      Summer Painting Class

ü      Coaching for Core Group-youth-members on documentation and activity facilitation-skills.

**NOTE:  Depending on the availability of functional Computer units.

 

 

  1. COMMUNITY ACTION/VOLUNTEERISM:

 

Specific Objective: To help provide opportunities and venues where the youth members could initiate, lead, inspire, assist and/or participate in the projects and activities that benefit their co-youth, their families and/or their communities.

 

To be continued:

ü      Active participation in special parish activities that involve facilitating/handling programs for smaller kids during Summer and/or Christmas or feast days.

ü      Youth- Leading of prayers during activities

ü      Participation in Cleanliness drive and/or other related projects initiated in the any of the target communities.

 

 

III. ADVOCACY AND NETWORKING:

 

Objective: TO PARTICIPATE IN VENUES AND PROJECTS THAT PROMOTE PROTECTION, WELFARE AND JUSTICE FOR CHILDREN AND ELDERS IN A COLLECTIVE EFFORT TO INFLUENCE GOVERNMENT POLICIES AND INSTITUTIONALIZE CHANGES AS NEEDED.

 

A. MEMBERSHIP IN ALLIANCES:

 

To be continued: 

ü      Renewal of membership with the Phil. Action for Youthful Offenders (PAYO); selected attendance to monthly meetings.                        

ü      Attendance to the Annual Assembly of Jail Volunteers called by the BJMP-NCR/PRAISED.

                       

B. Resource Mobilization:

 

To be continued:

ü      Fund and in-kind Sourcing; Write sponsorship letters/project proposals; tapping of individual sponsors for educational aid.

ü      Renewal of tie-ups with Phil. Jaycees, Phinma’s Hero Network and Covenants, Inc.

                    

To be started:

ü      A simple Appreciation Dinner (also ACE Foundation Day celebration every March 6th) for regular donors.

ü      Use of social networking via the internet for informal recruitment of volunteers/manpower support.

 

IV. LIVELIHOOD PROJECT:

 

Objective:  TO HELP THE FAMILIES OF YOUTH MEMBERS AUGMENT PRESENT FAMILY EARNINGS THROUGH AN ACCESS TO INCOME GENERATING/ENTREPRENEURIAL PROJECTS INCLUDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR TRAINING AND MARKETING.

   

To be continued:

ü      Increased production and direct selling/marketing of powdered soap, liquid detergent, fabric conditioner and cleaning aid (chlorox) by the Y4Y families themselves.

ü      Continuing promotion and sales of Christmas cards and other items handpainted by the cicl

 

      

V. Support Services:

 

Objective:  TO HELP PROVIDE, ON A SUPPLEMENTARY AND COMPLEMENTARY LEVEL, THE TARGET BENEFICIARIES THEIR MATERIAL NEEDS PARTICULARLY THOSE THAT ARE URGENT AND/OR EMERGENCY IN NATURE.

 

To be continued:

ü      Provide intervention aid during emergency/crisis e.g. purchase of medicines; house visits to released cicl

ü      Work on referral system e.g., for hospitalization; studies, etc.

                  

 

VI. ADMINISTRATIVE/ OFFICE OPERATIONS:

 

Objective: TO PROVIDE CLERICAL SUPPORT, DELIVERY SERVICES AND OTHER TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO ENSURE THAT PROGRAMS, PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES ARE EFFICIENTLY IMPLEMENTED AS PLANNED.

 

To be continued:

ü      Filing of all government reportorial requirements and renewal of licenses.

ü      Monitoring system re status of Y4Y beneficiaries re studies, attendance in values formation sessions and other developments.

ü      Improving the filing system

ü      Facilitating much ahead of schedules, the preparations of needed materials and other paraphernalia for activities to be conducted.

ü      Coaching/supervision of volunteers re office tasks.

ü      Annual Assessment and Planning Session.

         

To be started:

ü      Review of organizational set-up and Board membership

ü      Repainting of office **

ü      Standard/uniform format/framework of Reports for both NCR and CdO.
